Хакер. Кибербезопасность

Recently we have been receiving a lot of messages (mostly from Belarusians outside Belarus) about attempts of outsiders to enter accounts on Belarusan numbers. And they try to log in even if the number is paid for and up-to-date. Let’s tell you what Telegram cloud password is

How to protect yourself from hacking?

The most effective way to protect yourself from hacking is to enable two-factor authentication (Telegram cloud password). A cloud password is an additional account password that is requested every time you log in from a new device. It adds an extra layer of protection to your account by forcing the user to enter a code from the app when attempting to log in. Even if an attacker has a one-time password, they won’t be able to access the account unless they know the code from the app.

To enable in Telegram, follow the steps below:

Open the Telegram app.
Tap on the menu button in the top left corner of the screen.
Select “Settings.”
Select “Privacy.”
Turn on the “Cloud password” toggle.

Once enabled, you will be prompted to create a backup recovery code. This code should be saved in a safe place, as it will allow you to regain access to your account if you lose access to your device or the app.

Other precautions

Apart from enabling Telegram cloud password, you can also take the following precautions to protect your Telegram account:

Use a strong password for your account. The password should be at least 12 characters long, including letters, numbers, and special characters.
Don’t save your password in your browser or app.
Use caution when clicking on links in messages from unfamiliar users.

If you suspect your Telegram account has been hacked, change your password immediately.

How do I know if my Telegram account has been hacked?

If your Telegram account has been hacked, you may notice the following signs:

You can’t log into your account even though you know your password.

What you see are the changes to your account settings.
You see messages or calls from users you don’t know.

If you notice any of these signs, change your password immediately and enable cloud password.

In this case, the account will not be logged in, even if they made a copy of your SIM card. After all, you will need to enter an additional password.
